Its
great to have you involved with the site guys, why
don’t we kick things off by you bringing us
up to speed with what you are working on at the moment.
We
have just finished remixes for Ferry Corsten, Matt
Darey & Armin Van Burren. It hasn't left much
time to finish new single's for both Agnelli &
Nelson and Afterburn. Also Djing is taking up alot
of time at the moment but hey we're not complaining!
You
have been responsible for some of the biggest tracks
the clubs have seen over the years, to what do you
attribute your success and what do you think has enabled
you remain ahead of the field for so long?
Very
hard to answer that, we just do what we do. I suppose
we have never really followed trends or jumped on
the latest sound. We try and make records we want
to play out or would want to hear out. We work hard
in the studio creating that special vibe, the 'X factor'
in a record. You never know what that is but when
you hear it you know it's there. That is the hardest
thing to achieve in production. Alot of producers
can make what sound's like a dance record but is missing
that "something" that makes it special.
To
date, what production are you most proud of and why?
We
would have to say 'Everyday'. We still play it to
this day and has stood the test of time. There is
something about that record that we didn't even realise
at the time of making.
Do
you feel that your sound has evolved over the years
and if so how?
We
don't think the way in-which we approach making records
has changed, but the sound may have. With each record
you do you get the arrangement, mix-down, or sounds
just that bit better.
Tell
us your favorite piece of studio equipment.
W
would have to say the apple Mac. Equipment in the
studio has come and gone over the years but the Mac
has stayed. Won't have a PC near the studio, their
a bag of shite. Mac rule.....making music on them
is a pleasure, in fact doing anything on them is a
pleasure
Over
the years, which producers have been an inspiration
to you and why?
BT
has consistently inspired us. His production skills
and musicianship is just that bit better than anyone
else. He is the bench-mark to which producers should
look to. We’re not even close.
When
I first heard Nothing it knocked me for six- I think
I made my thoughts clear to you. Tell us about the
thought process behind such a massive hit and is there
a follow up in the pipeline?
What
tends to happen is we mess around in the studio not
with any clear picture in our heads. Get a vide going
that when you come into the studio play, and if it
sounds great a 9 in the morning(not that we have ever
been in the studio at 9 in the morning) then it usually
right. Then we work this idea further by get some
guide vocals together. We then work with these for
a while developing them until we're happy. 6 times
out of 10 the idea will be scrapped, Don’t be
scared to scrap an idea that’s not working.
We find that something from that can be used in the
next song. Then it's about the music, vocal performance
and lyric's all coming together.
As for the new single- we are working on a few things
at the moment that should be finished in 3-4 weeks
Now
outside of the studio, we all know that you are extremely
busy DJs, describe your favorite gig ever and tell
us why it was so special.

Ill
be playing with you guys at the fantastic Escape in
to the Park event this summer- but are there any other
gigs which you are really looking forward to in the
coming months?
We
love passion, fantastic crowd who are really clued
up on music. We will there a couple of times towards
the end of the summer. Also Escape into the park from
where we will be heading straight the Holland to finished
Ferry Corsen's tent at Love Fields (Their love Parade)
But loads of gigs to look forward to this summer.
Tell
us something unusual about Agnelli and Nelson…..
Nothing
much to tell, music doesn't allow us to have lives!!
Thanks guys, see you soon!
Thanks
Matt and to everyone on the site. Your support mean's
everything to us.
